2014 Rafting Fundraiser

UPDATE: Due to low sign-ups, the 2014 rafting fundraiser has been cancelled. (Sept 1, 2014)

We've secured the dates for the 2014 ICO Rafting Fundraiser. On September 6th and 7th, we’ll host our annual Fall Fundraiser Rafting Trip in partnership with All Outdoors California Whitewater Rafting and The Nugget Campground. Join us and experience the delights of whitewater rafting in a beautiful river canyon, while supporting the Sierra Club's Inspiring Connections Outdoors (ICO) rafting program.

September 6th - 7th, 2014
South Fork of the American River
Class III
(beginner – intermediate)

Saturday 9/6: $150
"The Gorge" – Start this 11 mile day on the river in the scenic Coloma Valley. After lunch, the excitement builds as we run the Class III section including Fowler’s Rock, Satin’s Cesspool and Hospital Bar.

Sunday 9/7: $150
"Chili Bar" - A 9 mile trip through the heart of the Gold Rush with many thrilling rapids including Meatgrinder and Troublemaker. We’ll raft right past the spot where gold was discovered.

Saturday night - $ 50.00*
Riverside camping and gourmet dinner in an exclusive, quiet private campground*

A discount of $ 25.00 per person per day is available for groups of four or larger!

* Sign up for both days and get your camping and meals for free!

We will be asking for an additional donation after each trip.

Trips are all inclusive and feature a great riverside lunch and shuttles between the river and our meeting place. The minimum age is 8 years old.

We meet in Lotus, CA, approximately 2.5 - 3 hours from the SF Bay Area.

Make a weekend of it and raft both days while joining us in a riverside camp! The campground comes with hot showers and bathroom amenities. Enjoy a gourmet dinner and spend the evening relaxing next to the campfire along a pristine river in Gold Rush country. Sunday breakfast is included. Ask our guides about the Gold Rush era tunnel that you can explore.

Non-rafters are welcome! Nearby activities include: wine tasting, cycling, hiking, fishing and Gold Rush tourist attractions.

Inspiring Connections Outdoors is an all-volunteer outreach program of the Sierra Club that provides wilderness experiences for groups of youth and adults who have little or no access to nature. Because we are all volunteers, every penny you give directly supports ICO's outreach activities. You can donate right now by clicking here.

These trips fill up fast, so reserve your space today. If you have questions email fundraiser@icorafting.org.

Help us spread the word! Please feel free to forward this message to friends, family and colleagues.

Hope to see you on the river!
